Faith and Transition

God’s Word for Warriors is happy to announce the beginning of our next class, “Faith and Transition.” This course of study resolves to address several situations that our American military service members face in their goal of obtaining normalcy following deployment or separation from military service. In seeking to assist our veterans in "reconnecting" with our culture, this course begins with the principle that to truly "reconnect," we must acknowledge the presence and importance of a spiritual or faith component. With this course of study, we hope to address many of the issues that returning veterans face. This will also include how the Bible addresses many of these post deployment and service issues. Regardless of your belief or faith background, the core Biblical principles apply to us all. Our goal is to bring a wholeness of life to each student; spiritually, socially, emotionally, and physically.
This class will be conducted in the format of a class-room situation, coupled with a Zoom component for those who cannot attend in person, and will be limited to 15 students. The sessions will be for 1 hour, one session a week for 8 weeks, from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. CST., on Tuesday evenings beginning February 11 to April 1, 2025.
Each individual will need to register by submitting the below form no later than September 2nd. There will be a $15.00 registration fee.The required text for the course will be: God’s Word for Warriors: Returning Home Following Deployment, WestBow Press, Bloomington, IN., available here. Other materials, such as, The Student’s Handbook, and weekly reading materials will be supplied to the students through email, at no cost.
It is imperative that interested individuals sign up as soon as possible due to the limited number for the class, 15.
